Use Psychology to Reverse & Trick Your
Panic Attacks Panic attacks or any
other similar disorders is not a disease, but a stimulus. It is
a reaction of the body and the mind, particularly when triggered by
daily tension, past-psychological impacts, chemical imbalance,
unhealthy lifestyles and fears that have been
developed before. Here are some renowned
psychological ways that can help relieve all the mental
suffering and disorders in the
mind.
Method #1: The Biggest Question: How to Eliminate
Psychological Barriers? Often been heard, "normal"
people will usually use this phrase when it comes to calming down
panic people. They will say things like "Oh, just think about
something else and you will be fine". However, this is by far the
most misleading statement ever, but what we need here is to capture
the concept correctly.
Yes, it is affirmed
that diverting your mind into something else is very
beneficial to you, especially when diverting away your
corrupted-panic mind. But how can we really achieve this?
Truthfully, it is easier than you thought, however
the effort will totally depend on your persistency
and constant motivation of reprogramming your mind. Here is what you
can do:
Let's recap at the previous phrase "Oh, just think
about something else and you will be fine". Now, break this
phrase and allocate them into smaller
segments.
1) Before thinking about that
"something else", constantly ask yourself "Why and What Am
I Worrying? What is there to worry if there is nothing will
happen? Ask yourself, what will happen? What are these Worries
& Fears telling you? Usually, your answers for all these
questions will be a definite BIG NO,
NOTHING. (Psychological calming
response)
2) Now you are
assured that your Worries are only illusions for your seemingly
"predictive future", you know that nothing will happen but
something is still bugging you there. Now, learn the switching
method (This can give you permanent cure). The switching method can
only works with the help from two of your own
"allies":
i) Do something that can not only
keep you busy, but something that you enjoy and
something that provides productivity. Make good use
of your time. Simultaneously, it will then SWITCH
your mind into dwelling. Now, this is your time of making
choices! Even your so called "worst-case-scenario" won't
be fatal (not even close either). So you need to make the right
choice of changing your LIFE permanently. And the right choice is,
DOING THE THINGS THAT YOU WANT TO DO ALL THESE YEARS! There is
practically no risk in doing so, and this is by far a
huge life-changing potential choice.
ii) Stay optimistic, only a fool will be afraid
about the unknown future. There was a famous saying (read carefully
and interpret the meaning): [There is
no difference between a pessimist who says, "Oh, it is hopeless, so
don't bother doing anything." and an optimist who says, "Don't
bother doing anything, it's going to turn out fine anyway." Either
way, nothing happens. - Founder of Patagonia] Most
panic people avoid doing things that they like and they thought that
their "lifestyle" would improve with time. Come on, do you
possibly think this "self-rationalization" is valid? Do you
really think this will improve your life? Are you better off
than you were before? If you were confident, would you still be
questioning things so? Honestly, this is a sign of
the fear of the unknown future. Things will not improve by
themselves, you have to jump the line and change your route.
Your life isn't short, but it is a long way to go, and
even longer if there you do not rescue yourself, say
about.. 30-50 years more? That is a long time!
So learn to be optimistic and properly control
your dominant thoughts!
iii) How to
Control your Dominant Thoughts? - Read (i), face
it as if you are a living-dead person. - Repeat it as
many times as possible - Little did you know, you are living
life.
Tip: Follow Your Role Model's Foot
step Think of someone that you know that has always been
a dare-devil, a brave, mentally and physically strong person to
you. Use this person and observe all his/her moves and LEARN from
this person! If you can't find any person like that, use the best
role model (for psychological purpose) , Homer Simpson
(Google it if you aren't sure who he is). The easy going, worry free
Homer Simpson has become an idol to many. Aside from his
absurd act in certain areas, what we can learn here from his
"live life freely donut mind" can certainly benefit us a
lot in the area of eliminating unwanted thoughts from our mind.
However, this is just an example, you are always encouraged to
choose your own idol (even God) and follow the way their movements
respectively.
Method
#2: Re-Affirmation Technique This
is by the most common yet powerful technique to
cope with this panic attacks of any kind. When
patients are facing symptoms that are associated to
panic attacks, constantly ask questions to the mind to
re-affirm and rationalize the brain.
Techniques are as
follows:
Continuously ask yourself: "What will
happen if I am facing this *symptom*, what will
then happen after I faced this *symptom*, what will
happen again if another *symptom*
persist. (keep going). Keep asking this
question until the point where your mind automatically
rationalizes itself. To ensure that this works for you, there
are a few areas that you need to focus on first, which
are:
When performing this
technique, try to think of any possible problem that
you have been facing. By doing so, you will generate a
positive message to your subconscious mind because you have
reassured that the symptoms are not as harmful than the mind
thought.
Slow down your pace when
asking these questions. Don't push your it too hard
and don't be too eager to end this session so quickly. Let
everything goes and remember to loosen those tense area/muscles in
your body.
After completing this
technique, you will be able to guard your thoughts within your
consciousness. If you are able to achieve until this stage,
immediately stop talking or thinking into other
thoughts or other negative illusions.
Upon completion, you will
need to learn on how to be brave.
Fears, Phobias and
Worries are the top factors that are associated to
panic attacks. Being able to attain bravery
is the main key that determines your success in
overcoming these factors and of course, the best
natural panic attacks treatment. (See our Motivational
Article to learn more)
We will then start with
some psychological exercises to feed your conscious
mind so that it enables your dominant thoughts from
your sub-conscious to syncronize with it.
Method #3: The Reverse
Psychology Method Another good method is the
reverse psychology method. It is somewhat similar to the
Re-Affirmation Technique. However, the Reverse Psychology Method is
different in a way that patients are overcoming the fears by facing
it. This method is really effective especially when the symptoms are
over the limit or beyond one's control.
Here
is how it works:
When
facing with extreme reaction from the symptom, apply the Proper
Breathing & Relaxation Method
to ease the
other major parts first.
Right when you have done
that, speak to the symptom: "If this is what you want, come and
get me"
Immediately release yourself
in every area and let the symptoms come to you as if it is going
to to happen on you. (Note: Do not hesitate or pause for a few
moments to "rationalize" it. If you do that, this technique will
not work. Don't worry, even if it fails, it will not harm you
in any ways.)
Regardless of what type of
symptoms, this method is to prove the subconscious
mind that even if the symptoms hit you, it will not happen
because the results when hitting is not matched with the perceived
outcome in the subconscious mind.
Therefore, this will result
in a conflict and causes the mind to revert back to the original
thought. (Reverse Psychology) Method #4: The Mission
Statements Another good way to re-program your
subsconscious mind is to write down a mission statement. This will
act like an agreement for you to tie down to what you have written
in this mission statement. When writing, makes sure you write
down the things you would want in the next 12 months as if
you had no limitations on your potential.Be sure to decide what you
really want first before you decide what is possible. In another
word, don't not fall into the trap of limiting yourself in advance
by thinking of all the reasons why it is not possible before you
even begin writing. Put the word possible aside and allow yourself
to write anything you want.
By writing this, you will
transmit a message to your subconscious mind implying that you have
made an agreement to promise yourself what you want in the next 12
months of your life. This is a very good psychological exercise.
For Example: If you are a person with a lot of
fear, or sensitive about certain activities, phobias, etc. Try to
make a list like this :
My Mission
Statement for the next 12 Months: 1) To have full
control on what i want with just a single thought 2) To be able
to participate in *name of activity* 3) To spend more time and
catch up with *so and so* 4) To feel energetic about life 5)
Going to say YES to everything 6) To live like I'm already
dead 7) Agree with decision
immediately 8) To live life like the last day on
earth
Always use affirmative and present tense words. Don't
use words like "no" "without" "impossible" "cannot" "don't" or any
negative words.
Once you have finished listing your Mission
Statement, read it everyday for the next 12 months and only focus on
that. Because by doing so, you will allow your mind to make
decisions based on a very logical fact that you have written it
down, therefore it has programmed into your mind to head for that
direction. The basic question that patients ask is, "what if it
doesn't work?". If you want to change your life, you should always
stay positive. Positive people will only ask "What if it does
work?". You can see an immediate results in less than 7
days.
